Doug Aitken and Philippe Vergne in Conversation

Lecture

Artist Doug Aitken and MOCA Director Philippe Vergne engage in conversation on the occasion of the opening of Doug Aitken: Electric Earth. Aitken’s largest survey to date, the exhibition is organized as a full collaboration with the LA-based artist and his studio. Aitken and Vergne will discuss Aitken’s uniquely immersive aesthetic; the work’s relationship to 20th-century avant-garde art, cinema, and experimental music; the nature of creativity in the 21st century; the possibilities for artmaking within our ever-mobile, ever-changing, image-based contemporary world; and other ideas central to the artist and the exhibition.

Priority seating is available to MOCA members one hour before the program. Fifteen minutes before the program begins seating will be open to non-members. Early arrival is recommended.

To become a MOCA member, please contact the membership department at 213/621-1794 or membership@moca.org.
