Real Worlds, Fake News Panel

Lecture

Taking the exhibition Real Worlds: Brassaï, Arbus, Goldin as a point of departure for a conversation about “fake news” versus hard truths in the media and beyond, this panel brings together art historian and Getty Research Institute postdoctoral fellow Michelle Maydanchik, former Los Angeles Times staffer and two-time Pulitzer Prize–winning photojournalist Barbara Davidson, and artists Sadie Barnette and Mariah Garnett to discuss what it means to represent an authentic story, or truth, in the 21st century.
