Sunday Studio: mecca vazie andrews and the MOVEMENT movement

Join us for an afternoon of exploratory movement and art-making for all ages led by Los Angeles–based choreographer mecca vazie andrews and the MOVEMENT movement. This workshop marks a continued collaboration between andrews and the artist Laura Owens. It will draw inspiration from the works on view in the exhibition Laura Owens, taking shape as interpretations of Owens’s work expressed through painting, drawing, sound and poetry. The afternoon will conclude with a collaborative performance with participants on The Aileen Getty Plaza.

Sunday Studio is MOCA’s free, drop-in event featuring art workshops for makers of all ages and experience levels. Programs include family-friendly tours in the museum, art-making explorations, music, and Toddler Town, a space with activities designed for small hands. Join the fun!
