Virtual MOCA: Book Club

Virtual

MOCA’s Virtual Book Club will provide readings and essays with discussion prompts to create a dialogue and open space for exploration and conversation.

This Sunday, we are featuring the Real Worlds: Brassaï, Arbus, Goldin exhibition catalogue, which has been made digitally available to read from home.

Access the essay here to read along and join the discussion!

Here are some prompts to consider while reading this catalogue:

  • During this time of quarantine and social distancing we are being challenged to reconsider the new ways that we must both maintain and reconfigure our access to our social bonds. What does, or what will, documentation of these newly formed networks look like?
  • How can artists translate these new rules for social engagement into works that will become lasting documentation of the current crisis?
  • Can virtual networks create new kinds of social networks that were in fact stronger or more equitable than those that were based on physical proximity?

Virtual MOCA is a new and daily digital series available on both moca.org and across MOCA's social media platforms. To enjoy the breadth of this program, please follow us on our social channels:
